It’s definitely getting towards the end of the semester… Today I’ve been working on things for the end of the week for the Day of Silence. Hopefully it should be pretty silent around campus, but for a good cause! I have two IM Softball games today, and since it’s nice out we’ll actually get to play!

Sitting in the Heiber Cafe, working on a group project for my Middle East class. Today I worked in LASR, helped hang up posters around campus for Big Gay Weekend (if you see the warning signs, those are mine!) and went to Family Dinner. Later tonight, I have a date for Coop smoothies, and then a good night’s sleep for my busy day tomorrow.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. I had a really busy past week getting back into the swing of things and trying to get some things organized. I’m the captain for an IM softball team: QOC (Queers of Colgate), and we had our first practice yesterday. We were supposed to have our first game today, but it got cancelled because of the weather. Can’t wait for our next game on Wednesday! Some of the members of Lambda and myself went to Syracuse last week and went to the club X Bar and danced the night away. I’ve had a couple papers due, and had a French test earlier today. This week shouldn’t be as busy, but we’re getting ready for Big Gay Weekend this Friday and Saturday, so there will be a lot of preparation!

Just got back to campus, and am almost done unpacking. Had a great break, but now it’s back to the grind. Have some work I have to finish up before classes tomorrow, and some laundry to finish before going to bed tonight. I am excited to be back at ‘Gate however, and to see everyone and see how their breaks were.

It sure has been a busy week. We went to the beach on Sunday and hiked around (it’s CT, so it wasn’t really beach weather, but we still had fun). Lauryn’s had a bunch of appointments she’d had to go to, so between them we walk around her town, or go someplace and sit outside and read. Yesterday we went to the mall because I needed things for the Drag Ball for Big Gay Weekend, and also needed some new clothes; my friends were sad that all I ever wear are t-shirts and jeans. We went to a concert by her high school jazz band, and went out for pizza afterwards. She’s getting her hair did as we speak, and then will go bowling and possibly dye my hair later. I think I might get in some homework later… but that remains to be seen.

“Watchmen” was great! I highly recommend it. I didn’t read the graphic novel beforehand, but Lauryn did, and said that it followed the novel almost page for page, save a few parts. I think I’ll pick it up either over break or sometime soon. We stopped by one of her friend’s house after, and now we’re eating homemade nachos and reading random books for pleasure instead of school books. Mine’s The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It’s a liberating experience.

I’m in Colchester, CT for Spring Break with my good friend Lauryn McNair. Her parents picked us up from Colgate yesterday and we all drove to her house and had real Chinese food for the first time in ages. Then we watched “The Little Mermaid” and fell asleep immediately after. We were both exhausted from midterm week. Today, we went and visited her grandparents, and I had sweet potato cheesecake for the first time. Tonight we’re going to see “Watchmen” and I’m really excited! Hooray Spring Break!

It’s been a really long week, with a complete lack of sleep. I voluteered at the Food Cupboard today, but otherwise have just been studying and writing papers. To celebrate almost being done, my suitemates and I, along with our two friends, are going to watch “High School Musical 3.” I’m not sure how I feel about the whole series, but for a wrap up to this crazy week, I won’t complain too much.

I’m sitting in the library, which is, of course, super crowded for midterm week. I have something due for every class tomorrow (along with a really big midterm), so I’ve just been plugging away all day. Hopefully I can get a good night sleep, but we’ll see what happens. Today I had all four of my classes, so I’m a bit worn out. It seems like everyone is preparing for midterms and trying to get everything done before break, and that unfortunately includes me! I’m in the LGBTQ Intern lounge working on my project for this semester (you’ll find out what it is later), and then I have dinner with a friend at the Colgate Inn. It’s nice to get away from the dining hall every once and awhile and eat in town, especially with the random assortment of restaurants that are in Hamilton!
